Sky Fire - Cadillac Mountain

Cadillac Mountain in Acadia National Park is the first place the sun shines upon in the USA for part of the year. The clouds in the sky lit up as if in a fire storm this morning! Truly amazing that we were here to capture this image as National Park Passes for sunrise are akin to obtaining Taylor Swift tickets! We missed out on the early release tickets for each day that we would be in the Park months before our trip. Then we missed again on the 3-day in advance releases. On our last opportunity both my wife and I had our cell phones ready to strike, and in about 20 seconds it appeared all tickets were released, my phone App indicated they were all gone. As I disconnected, I was telling my wife it would be ok, I'd be satisfied with whatever shots I could get later in the day when access wasn't regulated. But to my surprise in about 3 minutes she said, "I GOT IT!" and she had, her persistence paid off as a pass became available which reserved our spot. Now it was my hope to have good weather! My desire was fulfilled, this image is the result. So if you ever find yourself in a similar situation don't give up too soon as you might also get very lucky like we did!
